One of the things that james mentions the club needs to achieve is a larger membership. The benefits of this, apart from more opponents and more games are sounder club finances and the possibility of using the larger part of the hall and the ability to put on larger games on bigger tables.
One of the things that attracts new players to a club is quality terrain. Terrain that they don't have at home.
As a club we need to repair our existing terrain and finish those elements that are almost done but not quite there. This would be a huge undertaking for an individual but would take just one Sunday if we all pulled together to get it done as a group.
I propose that we nominate one Sunday in June or July to get this done. The non terrain makers will learn new skills, the craftsmen get to share their skills and we will all feel like it is 'our' terrain.
New people visiting will then see wargame tables they can't do at home and come regularly.
Ahead of this date we will need to work out and source what we need, spray, paint, PVA, artex etc and the order in which we need to do things.
Following this success, the next stage will be to decide what new terrain we want to achieve next so feel free to tag this thread with any ideas you have or things on your wargaming wish list.... recreating the Wars of the Roses first battle of St Albans appeals to me. We would need to create the medieval high street
