So is there any problems or objections with me looking after the money raised by food? Ill keep a running total and a count up of all stock and money every month or every 2 weeks if this will satisfy people

Sounds like a good plan. I think if its run by the club on Sunday to check everyone is happy it should work.

my twopenneth The building is a community asset and 6 months notice needs to be given before the asset can be redeveloped.... that said, in my experience that has probably already been done and for all we know the community may be in the middle of the run down period. The asset is being sold by the Legion in London and the local members allege they don't know what is happening however they would want our income to the very end so would not tell us anyway. Several of the high ups were surprised about how much I knew. Someone local should probably tip off the local paper if you want to find out what is going on... but you may not like the answer. The club needs a plan B which is easy enough but a plan B with secure storage is a little harder. I would suggest starting with schools with outbuildings and scout huts... these are both considerably cheaper, particularly if they think they are in competition and are rarely used on a Sunday. There won't be a bar but that would drive the tuck shop a little harder We need an understanding of how far people would be prepared to travel to keep the club going as a group i.e. does it have to be St Albans central, St Albans... hatfield.... hitchin, billericay etc etc As a club we need to hold at least £250 (probably £500) as a reserve if meeting every week is important to us. I would be nervous about spending cash on terrain until we are certain we can continue. If the tuck shop was set up as a private thing purely for 30K terrain so be it... As a club we need to prioritise the generic stuff first which can be used on every table by everyone and can probably be done for less. Is there are reason why we are buying these boards rather than making them ourselves? The Mortalis fund needs to stay separate to club funds raised from the subs, bring and buy, annual membership. i.e. they are not club funds The club has several groups of players who would welcome a cash injection into their own brand of hobby.... medieval buildings for the battle of St Albans project, cards for the magic players for drafts, and wargamers in general would benefit from 2 or 3 more 6 by 4 mdf board sets painted/flocked green with hills, roads, trees and rivers to match. A meeting was being planned for everyone to have a voice, I suggest that a questionnaire is created so that everyone can have their say / create their wish list anonymously. that way if we do agree we have CLUB funds that we are in agreement can be spent on club terrain it is spent on a list that reflects how the club as a whole as prioritised it. The point of a wargames club is that you get more space, a wider range of opponents and can be noisier than at home with less interruptions and can fight bigger battles regularly. Like Pete, I am slowly wrecking my stuff transporting it each week and whilst replacing it is a small price to pay for your good company however it hadn't occurred to me that club funds should be used for this or for any project that I wished to put on. We do need to have a discussion about whether or not we bother with an annual membership and if so, what it is for. I would also like to question why the charge is the same for those not working or at school. (just noticed the button says post quick reply)

Lads, post seen!
All sounds fine but in all honesty I think all and any available funds should be totalled up and spent for the greater good of the club in general on generic scenery that will benefit as many broad game systems as possible. I think Ross pointed out trees are a big must.
30k/40K scenery is 99.999999% the same style of terrain which I don't seem to understand what exactly 30% scenery is.
As for funds that I have, I have £30.00 to add in from previous weeks which I will be adding asap when down next.
I think all decisions on funds should be make collectively as a club at the AGM in April Prior to Salute.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Many thanks

It would seem to me as though you ought to be looking to find somewhere in the centre-ish as to stay local. My suggestions if the legion is going would be Church hall at the top of town (next to the old conservative club) there is a large sign outside that suggests yoga but they have a hella big hall and I'm sure they could accommodate storage for you Approach marina/eddy/dave at chaos city comics and see if something could be arranged downstairs (the storage those units have is about 3 times what they get given as shop floor space. Club Havana? They don't open on Sundays? Wouldn't be too bad if you don't mind the smell of stale booze and possibly occasionally finding a drunk milf hiding under the floorboards I hope you guys get it sorted, if you want any scenery built on a budget holla, I didn't realise you were so short of generic scenery

Right....
Priorities for us as a club are as follows:
Revenue generated from, by or at the club is for Generic Scenery for ALL club members to use, not select groups.
Replacing terrain so that people do not have to bring their own week after week damaging it in the process.
SAVING IN CASE OF VENUE CHANGE!!!!!!
At the AGM a vote will be had for types of scenery needed by ALL members as a whole complete group.
I started the club for all to benefit not specific game systems or groups as one of the key things about OUR club is that it is for all to enjoy and benefit from. The good thing is that we all get along, know each other and its a very friendly non click'y environment for members.
I know of recent I have not been down as much due to personal circumstances BUT money and disagreements over the spending of funds that we have made now that the club is generating a little profit will not be tolerated as this totally counter acts all the hard work of running the club and starting it over 2 years ago.
The AGM will be on the second Sunday of April, I will make a seperate thread for this and detailing the renewal of club memberships for the year.
If anyone has any questions then please let me know.
Regards
James
