Hi All,
I dropped by the Games Workshop in town yesterday, and the gentleman (I believe it was James - although I apologise if I'm getting your name wrong!) who works in the store pointed me in your direction.
So a brief bit about myself:
I've been playing Wargames for the past 21 years, starting with 40K, then moving onto most of the specialist games. Still remember the opening of the GW store in St. Albans where I bought Blood Bowl, Dead Zone and the Chaos Team Box! Stopped for a while whilst things like university and girls got in the way, but about 5 years ago got all the stuff back out again, and started to collect again.
Still have all my armies from my youth. These include 40K Blood Angels (2 Companies), Eldar (approx 6000pts) and a Catachan Jungle Fighter Army, most Necromunda Gangs, Warhammer Bretonnians, Skaven, Empire, Orcs and Goblins etc... (and a whole bunch of Epic!). However, it has been quite a while since have played a game of any of GW's main gaming systems (or Necromunda for that matter!)
More recently Kickstarter has allowed me to add Mantic Games (Dreadball, Dreadball Xtreme & Kings of War), Studio McVey's Sedition Wars and Rivet Wars to my gaming pile, each with appropriately sized piles of miniatures to support them.
However, my main love since returning to the hobby has been Blood Bowl! I am a member of the NAF, I play in the ECBBL in London on a Tuesday Night, and regularly go to tournaments such as the NAF Championship (replacement for the GW hosted Blood Bowl) which I was at less than a month ago. I have at least 1 of each of the teams in the LRB6.0, and for some (such as Orcs & Humans) I have up 4!
However, have not had a gaming group in St. Albans, until I heard about your group!
Would love to come down and meet some of you, maybe even play a game of Blood Bowl or two!
I might try and make it down on the 22nd of June, however it won't be until at least 7, as I am taking part in a Blood Bowl tournament in London next weekend! (Pearlies, link to the tournament info page on the talkfantasyfootball website just incase anyone is interested!!) If I don't make it that weekend, I'll try for the weekend after!
Hope to meet some of you soon!
